tzurriz @ 09:26 am: Froebe-Fibers has arrived!
I hope this is okay to post.  If not, please delete it.  I'm just so excited.  After months of work, my new (online) yarn store has opened for business.  We are based in the south suburbs of Chicago.

Please, check us out!

All of our yarns are 100% Peruvian wool, hand-dyed with non-toxic dyes.

I am proud to announce that at 8:47 a.m. on Saturday, March 17th, Froebe-Fibers entered the world. With five unique colorways, the store is healthy and functional.

catbirdgirl @ 01:06 pm: Hello all crafty ladies, gentlemen, and those who refuse to be defined! Stitchfest 2 is a chance to crochet, knit, weave, sew or magically will into existence a blanket for the warm hearted, cold footed ladies of the Chicago Rape Crisis Hotline. We will be meeting at Pressure Billiards and Café, 6318 North Clark Street 773-743-POOL, on Monday, January 1st between the hours of 2 PM to whenever? Maybe 2 AM. Let's just go crazy! Why are we doing this? To come together in peace and joy while creating a symbol of love to support those who are fighting to end sexual violence. If you want to help but cannot attend, you can send us 4"x4" squares that we will add into the blanket.

vaudy @ 11:59 am: You know, I've been a member of this community for a year and have never posted. Anyway, I'm about to start grad school in River Forest, and I was wondering if anybody knew of any yarn shops or knitting groups (or any other interesting fibery things) in the River Forest/Oak Park area, or at least within spitting distance. Thanks!

unluckymonkey @ 07:36 pm: Hi! I'm Sam I Am

Hello! I'm not much good at getting around to posting in communities anymore. Here's some of what I've been into. I knit from the top down and don't use patterns. I'm always experimenting with different approaches and shapes of sweater and how to customize them further to fit better.

I think in the next year I'm going to write a booka bout my approach as it's not as complicated as the top down books make you think and they don't really cover out of the ordinary shapes/ideas.

Crossposted around a bit.
